UCAS Application Deadline - 26th Jan 2022
What is the UCAS 2022 Entry Deadline and what happens if I missed it?
UCAS 2022 Entry Deadline (Equal Consideration Deadline)
26th Jan 2022 (18:00 GMT)
Only 2 weeks remaining until the UCAS 2022 Entry Deadline! Grab your chance to apply to UK universities for Sep 2022 intake before it's too late.
Sometimes later becomes never!
To pursue undergraduate degree programmes in the UK, all students will have to apply through the University & College Admissions Service (UCAS). The great thing about UCAS is that it allows students to apply for up to 5 different degree courses at the same time, giving you options to fall back on if you do not receive an offer from your first-choice course.
When applying through UCAS, it is important that you submit your applications before the equal consideration deadline, i.e: 26th Jan 2022 (18:00 GMT)
The equal consideration deadline dictates that all UK universities will consider all UCAS applications submitted before this date equally for admissions to Sep 2022 intake.
There is no guarantee that universities will give equal consideration for applications received after this date as offers would have been made to applicants who applied on or before 26th Jan 2022, which means fewer spots are available.
This is especially the case for popular courses and universities where spaces would have been filled up quickly and even closed to new applicants. Surely that is something you would not want to experience, missing out a spot at the university course of your dream.
Here are the key reasons why you should apply before the 26th Jan 2022 UCAS deadline:
All university scholarships are only open to offer holders. Thus, you should aim to submit your application earlier to secure a place and won't miss out on any scholarship deadlines which are usually in Mar/Apr. There is no telling how long each university would take to process your application, so it's critical that you apply earlier. This will also afford you the time needed to put together a strong and convincing scholarship application. Preparedness is the key!
2. Less exam stress
Students who apply through UCAS can use their predicted pre-U results to apply for a course. If you apply earlier and receive a conditional offer, you won't have to worry about applying afterwards and can concentrate on your upcoming exams to get the grades required to confirm your place at the university of your choice.
3. Prepare to go abroad
Applying and receiving an offer through UCAS doesn't mean you're ready to go abroad. Not yet! After accepting your offer, you will need to look into your accommodation options for your first year of study. You'll also need to apply for student visa to travel to the UK which takes time to prepare. Holding an offer earlier gives you enough time to do all that minus the stress, allowing you to make informed decision.
